Yoga Philiosophy talk on January 10th 1:30 – 2:30 pm with Arvind Pare
Vande Gurunam Caranaravinde is a prayer with which ashtanga yoga classes begin all over the world. It is then followed by a prayer to Patanjali Abahu Purusakaram. Together this is sometimes referred to as “opening chant (mantra)”. First part is taken from a book called Yoga Taravali and is a salutation to the lineage (Parampara) of gurus. Even though it is very short, it has great beauty and a depth of meaning which we will explore in our talk.
